Present Arsenal Badge

Robert Lauren Recollection
The main part of Arsenal badge is a shield with red and blue as the background. In addition to printed Arsenal, the most eye-catching is artillery with muzzle to the left, which is consistent to team’s name- arsenal and conveys the meaning of team’s nickname- Gunners.
This badge was designed by Arsenal in 2012. It’s modified based on the original one. The big change is that direction of muzzle, turning from left to right. In addition, it has greatly simplified the elements contained in the picture.
In the beginning of modifying the design, following factors are mainly taken into consideration. First of all, due to the untraceable origins of many design elements applied in the badge for many years, Arsenal could not register the old logo and could not occupy dominant position in rights and benefits of its related products. Secondly, with the approval of developing new stadium proposal and increasingly important status Arsenal enjoys in Europe and local joint domestic league, club hopes that new badge can set a milestone in the future development of the team. New badge has been integrated with Arsenal traditional honor and elements of expanding a new era, meanwhile maintaining Arsenal’s traditional cannon and shield shape. However, the design tends to be more modern.
